Kenya’s GRA opens licensing cycle under six new gambling regulations

Regulation

Kenya’s Gambling Regulatory Authority has opened its first licensing cycle after six regulations took effect on 30 June, covering licensing, advertising, operator conduct, foreign gambling businesses, the National Lottery and appeals. The GRA is allowing holders of former BCLB licences 60 days to transition, while online bookmakers, casinos and several other operators must meet a KSh10 million capital threshold, according to the report.

Operators must reapply within the transition period and meet new capital, product-licensing and compliance requirements.
