Kenya GRA opens first licensing cycle under 2025 gambling law

Licences & markets

Kenya’s Gambling Regulatory Authority (GRA) said it opened the first licensing cycle under the Gambling Control Act, 2025, through a notice to operators on 3 July 2026. Existing licences under the previous framework remain valid for 60 days from publication of the new regulations. Operators must notify suppliers and service providers that regulatory approval is required and submit their supplier lists within seven days of the notice.

Operators and suppliers must meet new licensing and approval requirements during the transition to Kenya’s regulatory framework.
