Kenya Gambling Regulatory Authority prepares licensing framework and lottery proposal
Kenya’s Gambling Regulatory Authority is preparing revised licensing and monitoring rules ahead of a licensing window closing in June 2026, reportedly. Director General Peter Karimi also told a parliamentary committee that the authority is considering a national lottery and plans to recruit nearly 200 staff.
Operators may need to meet updated licensing and monitoring requirements before the June 2026 window closes.
