Kentucky lawmakers propose raising sports betting age to 21

Regulation

Kentucky representatives Michael Meredith and Matt Koch filed House Bill 904 on 4 March, proposing changes to the state’s gambling rules. The bill would raise the minimum age for sports betting from 18 to 21, bar prop bets involving athletes at Kentucky colleges and place fantasy sports operators under the Kentucky Horse Racing and Gaming Corporation; it awaits committee assignment.

If enacted, the proposal would change sportsbook eligibility, college-athlete wagers and fantasy-sports oversight in Kentucky.
