New York lawmakers propose campus bans on mobile sports betting

Regulation

New York lawmakers proposed bills A10526 and S10470 to prohibit mobile sports wagers from people located on college campuses. The measures would require operators and platform providers to use geolocation technology, with colleges supplying campus boundary data to the state gaming commission. The bills did not advance to a floor vote in the 2026 regular session and would need to be reintroduced next year unless considered in a special session.

If enacted, the proposals would require sportsbooks to detect and block wagers placed within campus boundaries.
