Kalshi and Polymarket bar some insider trading as senators propose sports-contract ban
Kalshi and Polymarket announced new trading restrictions on 23 March, while US senators Adam Schiff and John Curtis introduced legislation to prohibit prediction-market contracts on sports. Kalshi’s rules cover candidates trading on their campaigns and people involved in sports trading related contracts; Polymarket bars trading where users may hold confidential information or influence an outcome.
The proposed sports-contract ban could substantially affect both platforms, while their new rules restrict eligible traders.
