The International Esports Federation presented a proposal for global esports governance at the Seoul Olympic Legacy Forum 2026. It envisages one national federation per country, licensing for participants and officials, federation ownership of national-team and world competitions, and common rules covering integrity and competition standards.
The International Esports Federation (IESF) presented a proposal for global esports governance at the Seoul Olympic Legacy Forum 2026, held at the Olympic Park in Seoul, South Korea, the federation said. The presentation, titled The Future of Global Esports Governance and the Olympic Legacy, was given by IESF secretary general Boban Totovski during a session on the role of artificial intelligence and data in the future of the Olympic Movement. The IESF describes the model as a governance proposal, not a structure already formally adopted by the sector.
