Italian senator questions social costs of restoring gambling advertising
Senator Luca Pirondini raised concerns during a hearing on Italian football reform about the possible return of gambling advertising. He cited estimates of €100m in lost football revenue under advertising restrictions and €250m spent on agents, and called for the social impact to be weighed against potential income.
Any advertising-policy debate could affect operators’ marketing opportunities and football’s commercial relationships with betting.
