Ireland requires advance newspaper notices for in-person gambling licence applications

Regulation

Ireland’s Gambling Regulation Act 2024 requires anyone applying for or renewing an in-person gambling licence to publish public notice at least 28 days in advance and send a copy to the relevant authority. Applications covering one venue require local newspaper notice; multi-area applications also require national publication, while applications limited to specified racing venues require national notice only. The authority will publish received notices on its website.

Applicants must build a 28-day public-notice period into the process for in-person gambling licences.
