Ireland grants GRAI powers to process betting licence applications

Licences & markets

Ireland’s Minister for Justice, Home Affairs and Migration, Jim O’Callaghan, signed an order giving the GRAI authority to accept and process betting licence applications. The powers cover remote and in-person betting licences, and the regulator can issue licences to new entrants as soon as feasible; remote operators can be licensed from 1 July and in-person operators from 1 December.

Operators face a new licensing route and the stated dates for remote and in-person licences in Ireland.
