Illinois Gaming Board proposes six-month self-exclusion option

Regulation

The Illinois Gaming Board voted unanimously to advance proposed rules that would let people choose self-exclusion periods starting at six months, instead of the current five-year minimum. The draft also adds online and notarised-mail enrolment, includes fantasy contests and would bar operator marketing to people for at least 12 months after they leave the list; JCAR review is required.

Operators may need to adjust self-exclusion, enrolment and marketing practices if the rules are approved.
