IBJR warns Brazil betting ban could put R$73bn in revenue at risk
The Brazilian Institute for Responsible Gaming (IBJR) and its members say a total ban on fixed-odds betting would disrupt Brazil’s regulatory framework. Citing an LCA Consultores estimate, IBJR says the measure could put R$58bn to R$73bn in revenue at risk from 2027 to 2030, depending on how much regulated demand shifts to illegal operators.
Operators could face challenges to their five-year authorisations and investments if the regulated market is prohibited.
