Gravina proposes betting rights and sponsorship ban repeal for Italian football

Regulation

Former FIGC president Gabriele Gravina published a report on Italian football after his planned parliamentary hearing was cancelled following his resignation. He proposed allocating betting revenue to football and ending the ban on betting operators’ advertising and sponsorships; he remains in caretaker office until 22 June, when an extraordinary election assembly is scheduled.

The proposals could change betting operators’ ability to sponsor Italian football and direct betting proceeds to the sport.
