GRAI prepares to issue Irish gambling licences under new framework
Ireland’s Gambling Regulatory Authority of Ireland is due to begin issuing licences from 5 February under the new framework, following an order signed by Justice Minister Jim O’Callaghan. Existing operators may apply for replacement licences from 1 July for land-based operations and 1 December for online operations; breaches may attract fines of up to €20m or 10% of revenue, whichever is higher.
Operators face new licensing dates and compliance requirements, including restrictions on credit-card betting and mandatory safer-gambling tools.
