Google adds policy-compliance checks to gambling ad certification from 14 September

Regulation

Google announced an update to its Gambling and Games Policy that will take effect on 14 September 2026. Advertisers seeking or keeping certification must show both the required local authorisations and a record of compliance with Google’s advertising policies; manager accounts with repeated certification revocations may be barred from applying for further approvals. The changes apply in countries where Google permits gambling advertising.

Certification will depend on local authorisations and policy compliance, while repeated revocations may prevent manager accounts from seeking approvals.
