A federal judge in Nevada dissolved an injunction protecting Kalshi from state regulators and denied the company a stay, the report said. The Nevada Gaming Control Board can now act on its cease-and-desist order over sports contracts allegedly offered without a state licence; Kalshi is seeking relief from the Ninth Circuit.
The ruling leaves Kalshi exposed to Nevada enforcement while its appeal proceeds.

A Nevada federal judge remanded the Gaming Control Board’s lawsuit against Kalshi to state court this week, according to the report. Judge Miranda Du found the Board’s claims arose under state law and denied Kalshi’s request to have the case heard in federal court; the Board is seeking a permanent injunction against the prediction market’s sports event contracts.
US District Judge Stephen Locher denied Kalshi’s request for a preliminary injunction against Iowa’s gambling regulation. Locher found that Kalshi was unlikely to establish that federal commodities law pre-empts Iowa’s gambling laws.
A federal judge in Connecticut rejected Kalshi’s request for an emergency injunction, ruling that a CFTC order could not override the court’s interpretation of federal law. The judge also found Kalshi had not shown irreparable harm; the dispute concerns whether state gambling laws apply to its sports-event contracts.
