Dutch regulator convenes player protection conference with 16 European countries

The Dutch gambling regulator organised a player protection conference on 8–9 September 2025, attended by regulators, researchers and experts from 16 European countries. Participants discussed youth protection, illegal gambling and advertising, and the use of player data to identify risk factors; working groups are due to meet for the first time in 2026.
The working groups could develop shared approaches to player protection and illegal gambling across participating jurisdictions.
