DraftKings co-founder signals interest in microbetting markets

Deals & M&A

DraftKings co-founder Paul Liberman said at a conference that the company would consider offering faster, more dynamic sports micro-markets. The report says the Public Health Advocacy Institute has sued DraftKings, FanDuel, the NFL and Genius Sports, alleging their involvement in microbetting encourages gambling addiction; DraftKings acquired Simplebet in 2024 for nearly $200 million.

Potential expansion into rapid in-play markets comes as DraftKings faces a lawsuit alleging harms linked to microbetting.
