DGOJ submits risk-detection proposal to EU TRIS system

Regulation

Spain’s DGOJ submitted a draft resolution on detecting gambling-risk behaviour to the European Commission through the TRIS system, according to the report. The proposal would require supervised operators to assess players during the first seven days of each month, using direct classification and an AI model; the stated status would not constitute a clinical diagnosis. The standstill period ends on 16 March 2026, and the resolution would take effect four months after publication in Spain’s official gazette.

If adopted, the proposal would require operators to classify risk and apply specified player-protection measures.
