Colorado's Division of Gaming recorded record tax revenue of almost €42m from sports betting in fiscal year 2025/2026. The state recorded about €3.12bn in wagers through July 2026, the report said.
The Problem Gambling Coalition of Colorado says support services for problem gamblers are struggling to keep pace with the growth, according to the report.
A new sports-betting law took effect in Colorado in August. It allows bettors a maximum of six deposits within 24 hours and bans the use of credit cards to top up gaming accounts.
The law also prohibits marketing initiatives aimed at people under 21 and bars operators from sending promotional notifications or text messages encouraging customers to play or make deposits.
Under the law, operators must submit transaction data and indicators to the Division of Gaming at the Department of Revenue every year, starting in February 2028. The Division of Gaming will then publish a data report every three years, starting in January 2029.
