Coljuegos seized 397 unauthorised localised gambling items in Popayán, Cauca, the regulator said in a bulletin dated 20 October 2026. The operation was carried out jointly with the Gaula Militar, according to the Coljuegos notice.

Coljuegos estimated that the illegal operation was failing to transfer more than COP210m a year to the country's subsidised health system. The regulator said each establishment or machine operating outside the legal framework represents an offence against public administration and prevents the subsidised health system from receiving the corresponding resources.

Coljuegos said combating unauthorised operations is a strategic priority. The regulator said exploitation rights generated by gambling are a source of financing for the health sector, and that its control actions aim to curb activities operating outside the rules, promote formalisation of the sector and ensure that resources from legal gambling reach health care for vulnerable populations.
