CLSA says China investment rules may weigh more on Macau stocks than GGR
CLSA said Beijing’s outbound-investment rules, due to take effect on 1 July, may affect investor sentiment towards Macau gaming stocks more than casino revenue. The brokerage expects any direct GGR effect to be limited, citing a 2025 survey of 800 respondents in which cash accounted for 48% of gaming budgets and UnionPay cards 42%.
Operators and investors may face greater market-confidence concerns than direct revenue pressure from the rules.
