Regulation · SectorWire deskSource published 1 min read

Castilla-La Mancha expects to collect €48,148,690 in 2027 from the main taxes and fees linked to gambling, according to forecasts in Volume III of the draft general budget of the autonomous community for next year. The largest share comes from the tax on games of chance, whose estimated revenue is €36.74m.

Within the games-of-chance tax, gaming machines account for most of the forecast revenue at €34.4m. Bingo is estimated at €1.35m, while casinos and casino gaming establishments contribute €992,070. A further €9.24m is forecast from the tax on gambling activities and €2.16m from the fee on raffles, tombolas and random combinations.

On the spending side, the region allocates €594,510 to programme 126E, for the regulation of gambling, managed by the Directorate-General for Taxes and Gambling Regulation under the Ministry of Finance, Public Administrations and Digital Transformation. The programme covers administrative work on authorising and supervising establishments, approving and controlling machines and gambling materials, and exercising sanctioning powers, and includes staffing and running costs.

The budget planning also provides for continued inspection and supervision work in collaboration with the Directorate-General of the National Police, and for the introduction of an advanced technological system to control access to gambling establishments.
