Brazilian lawmakers consider betting tax increases under two proposals

Regulation

Two proposals before Brazil’s Chamber of Deputies could raise taxes on regulated betting, according to a report published on 20 February. One would introduce a 15% CIDE-Bets charge on player deposits; another would raise the GGR contribution to 18% from 2028. The proposals had not yet been approved.
