Brazilian clubs cite betting sponsorship exposure as proposed online-casino ban is debated
Fifteen of Brazil’s 20 Série A clubs signed a manifesto opposing a proposed federal measure targeting online casinos, the report said. It says 13 clubs currently have betting sponsors on their shirts and that annual main-shirt sponsorship values exceed R$1 billion. The proposal under discussion would target online casinos while excluding sports betting, according to the report.
A proposed ban on online casinos could affect club sponsorships and the revenue they provide.
