Brazilian football clubs and federations oppose proposed betting ban
Brazilian football clubs and the FERJ, FPF and FAF federations issued a joint statement opposing a possible federal provisional measure to prohibit sports betting. They argued that suspending the regulated market could leave clubs insolvent, disrupt existing financial commitments and push consumers towards illegal platforms.
A proposed ban could affect clubs’ betting-related income and the financial commitments they say depend on it.
