Regulation

Brazil published a provisional measure on 25 September prohibiting fixed-odds betting, including online sports betting and casino games, according to the report. Existing authorisations expire 30 days after publication, and customers have until 5 October to withdraw balances before platforms are scheduled to become unavailable on 6 October. The measure also bars new authorisations and requires advertising and sponsorship material to be removed within 10 days.

Operators must prepare for authorisation expiry, platform closures and customer-fund returns under the measure’s timetable.
