Brazil requires risk warnings in betting advertisements from 17 July

Regulation

Brazil’s federal government brought new advertising requirements for authorised betting companies into effect on 17 July. Ads must carry one of three Ministry of Finance warnings, displayed horizontally and occupying at least 10% of the advertising space; the rules also prohibit claims presenting betting as income, investment or a solution to financial problems.

Operators must change advertising formats and content to comply with Brazil’s new requirements.
