Brazil betting experts urge compliance checks ahead of World Cup
Experts quoted in a report said the World Cup is renewing attention on sports betting in Brazil and urged consumers to use federally authorised platforms. The report said licensed operators must meet identity-checking, anti-money-laundering, financial monitoring and responsible-gambling requirements; it also cited more than 190 authorised sites and over R$10bn in tax and licence revenue in 2025.
Licensed operators face compliance obligations covering customer identification, financial monitoring and responsible gambling.
