Betsson says Portugal leads betting volume across its 25 World Cup markets

Deals & M&A

Betsson said Portugal was the most-backed team to win the 2026 World Cup across its 25 betting markets, despite Spain having the shortest odds. The company said France, the Netherlands and Argentina followed Portugal by betting volume, while Spain ranked fifth. Betsson also identified Kylian Mbappé as both the leading outright favourite and its most-backed player for the tournament’s top-scorer market.

Betsson’s figures show a gap between its customers’ betting activity and the odds-based ranking of World Cup contenders.
