Belgian Gaming Commission partners with DNS Belgium to target illegal gambling domains

Deals & M&A

Belgium’s Gaming Commission agreed a protocol with DNS Belgium, effective 15 December, to address illegal gambling websites, initially targeting sites using .be domains. The commission can notify DNS Belgium about suspected illegal content; the provider may alert the domain holder, withdraw use of the domain under its terms and redirect it to a commission warning page.

The protocol creates a process that could make unlicensed gambling sites using .be domains inaccessible through those addresses.
