Baguio council advances proposed online gambling ban to second reading
Baguio City councillors passed a proposed ordinance at second reading that would restrict online gambling operations, advertising and sponsorships. The measure would bar new or renewed permits for covered businesses and give existing operators one year after the ordinance takes effect to cease operations. It also proposes prohibiting people under 25 from gambling and setting conditions for community bingo events.
If enacted, the proposal would require covered gambling businesses in Baguio to stop operating after a one-year transition period.
