ASA bans Oddschecker Instagram betting posts featuring Kane and Haaland
The UK Advertising Standards Authority prohibited two Oddschecker Instagram posts featuring Harry Kane and Erling Haaland, ruling that both players had strong appeal to under-18s. Cyan Blue Odds Ltd argued the posts were editorial and its account was restricted to adults, but the ASA said children could still access them. In a separate ruling, the ASA cleared a Betway post featuring Thierry Henry.
The ruling sets an advertising compliance risk for gambling promotions featuring footballers who appeal to under-18s.
