As.Tro requests Sondrio prefecture meeting on gambling venue security

Regulation · SectorWire deskSource published 2 min read

As.Tro has sent a formal request for a meeting to the Prefecture of Sondrio, the association announced. The request seeks talks on a provincial memorandum of understanding on preventing illegal acts and situations of danger to public order and public security at gaming venues. The association said the initiative forms part of its programme to implement the guidelines of the 21 January 2025 decree, known as the Piantedosi decree, which sets out prevention measures and cooperation tools for improving security inside and near public establishments.

The request to Sondrio aims to replicate a model of institutional cooperation already used in other Italian territories through agreements involving the competent authorities and public gambling operators. As.Tro said it has already signed memoranda of understanding with the prefectures of Ancona, Milan, Lodi and Pavia as part of a programme to spread the prevention measures provided by the decree. The association said the Sondrio initiative centres on developing structured forms of what it calls "cooperazione operosa" between the prefecture, police forces and gambling operators, with the aim of raising security standards at gaming venues, promoting responsible behaviour and recognising operators that invest in legality and prevention.

According to As.Tro, cooperation between institutions and businesses is an important tool for improving security conditions at establishments, preventing risk situations and strengthening the professional qualification of operators. The association said the programme also aims to consolidate a stable relationship between territorial authorities and the public gambling sector through shared instruments intended to protect operators, workers and customers. As.Tro confirmed it intends to extend the initiative progressively to other Italian prefectures, taking account of the needs expressed by members in different territories.

While awaiting the start of the institutional dialogue in Sondrio, As.Tro invited member operators active in the province and interested in taking part in the project to make themselves available. The association said expressions of interest and requests for information can be sent to its secretariat by email. The initiative forms part of As.Tro's strategy of promoting greater integration between the legal gambling sector and the institutions responsible for public security through territorial agreements focused on prevention and on improving operating conditions at establishments. The report was.
