Argentina government proposes restricted online gambling advertising in bill

Regulation

Argentina’s government sent a gambling-harm and illegal-betting bill to the Senate, according to a report. The proposal would allow advertising by authorised operators subject to restrictions, maintain the ban on under-18s using betting platforms and introduce prison terms of three to six years for illegal operators. The Senate will consider the bill, which may return to the lower house if amended.

Operators and media would face proposed advertising conditions, while illegal operators and service providers could face prison terms.
