Denmark proposes gambling advertising restrictions and live-sports blackout
Denmark’s draft Bill, introduced by Tax and Growth Minister Jakob Engel-Schmidt, proposes tighter gambling advertising rules and a ban on marketing during the 10 minutes before and after live sports broadcasts. It is scheduled for a first reading on 22 October 2026 and would also impose operator duties of care and expand Spillemyndigheden’s powers to block unlicensed intermediary websites.
Operators and gambling advertisers would need to adapt marketing and player-protection practices if the proposed rules take effect.
