ANJL and IBJR ask Brazil’s Supreme Court to suspend betting ban

Regulation

ANJL and IBJR asked Supreme Court minister Luiz Fux to suspend Provisional Measure 1,394/2026 until a public hearing on the betting market, the associations said in their petition. Alternatively, they proposed delaying the ban’s transition until 31 December 2026, with the measure’s deadlines starting on 1 January 2027. The court’s decision was not reported.

A suspension or delayed transition could affect the timing of the ban and the operations of authorised betting companies.
