AMIG backs Brazil’s measures to disrupt illegal betting platforms
The Association of Women in the Gaming Industry (AMIG) supported Brazil’s newly announced measures against illegal betting platforms. The association said enforcement should involve public authorities, the Secretariat of Prizes and Betting, financial institutions, internet providers, digital platforms and licensed operators, arguing that unlicensed platforms avoid regulatory obligations and consumer protections.
AMIG’s position calls for coordinated enforcement involving operators and several public and private-sector actors.
