AGCO updates Ontario cannabis penalty schedule after opening-hours change

Ontario’s Alcohol and Gaming Commission (AGCO) said changes to its cannabis penalty schedule took effect on 10 August 2026. The board established the revised schedule, and Ontario’s Attorney General approved it after regulatory amendments allowed cannabis stores to open at 7 a.m. from 1 May, rather than 9 a.m.
Cannabis retailers need to comply with the revised penalty schedule and the permitted 7 a.m. opening time.
