In brief
- ADM opens 2027 RIES register renewals on 2 November; the deadline is 20 January 2027.
- The €150 fee can be paid via PagoPA or the existing F24 form with code 5216.
- From 21 January 2027, non-renewed operators cannot contract with third parties unless they re-register.
- A unified function from 2 November combines RIES registration and producers' register accreditation.
Italy's Customs and Monopolies Agency (ADM) said the online systems for renewing registration on the 2027 RIES register will open on 2 November, according to an ADM notice. Renewal must be completed by 20 January 2027 and is handled only electronically through the agency's website using existing credentials, the ADM said.
The renewal fee is €150. From 2 November, the PagoPA payment system, previously used only for stamp duty, is extended to the renewal and registration fee, but it is not the only option: operators can continue to pay through the F24 form using dedicated tax code 5216, and the user selects between the two methods. Under PagoPA, the system generates the debt on the platform and the request stays in a pending-payment state until the operator pays through the link in the requests section of their area.
From 21 January 2027, only the 2027 list of registered entities will be published on the agency's website, the ADM said. Positions of those who have not renewed for that year will no longer be visible, and those operators, not appearing on the published list, will not be able to enter into contractual relationships with third parties unless they carry out a re-registration.
New registrations for 2026 remain possible until 31 December 2026, and for 2027 from 1 January 2027, the notice said. Access to the registration functions requires SPID, CIE or CNS credentials, and the first step is requesting authorisation through the Modello Autorizzativo Unico (MAU) under the item "Funzionalità Telematiche Apparecchi Comma6" (dlr_funzionalita_app_c6); the function is found under "Interattivi", then "Giochi", then "Servizi telematici apparecchi con vincita in denaro ed Elenco dei Soggetti".
Also from 2 November, a unified function lets entities registering on the RIES list as game-card producers complete their accreditation to the producers' register at the same time by filling in a questionnaire in the dedicated section, so both steps are handled in one procedure rather than two separate applications. Validation by the territorially competent office confirms the accreditation and triggers a notification to technology partner Sogei, which prepares the test smartcards and reserved protocols. The function is also available to entities already registered as game-card producers to modify or update existing data; for years after the first, recorded information is resubmitted for confirmation or updating, except the producer codes, which remain unchanged.
The ADM said the procedures for operators are set out in a guide prepared by the technology partner and attached to the notice, and that the toll-free number 800.217.213 is available for questions on how the systems work.
