ADM opens 2027 RIES renewals and sets 20 January deadline

Italy's Customs and Monopolies Agency (ADM) has published a notice stating that the operating systems for renewing registration on the RIES register for 2027 will open on 2 November, according to the notice. Renewal must be completed by 20 January 2027 and may be carried out only online, the ADM said.

The ADM said the procedure for renewal is set out in guidelines published on the agency's institutional website. From 21 January 2027, the website will show only the list of those registered for 2027, so the positions of those who have not renewed for that year will no longer be visible, according to the notice.

The notice states that a new registration for 2026 remains possible until 31 December 2026, and for 2027 from 1 January.

The ADM also announced a unified function through which parties registering on the RIES register as gaming-card producers simultaneously complete accreditation to the producers' list by filling in a specific questionnaire in the dedicated section. Producers therefore complete both the RIES registration and the producers'-list accreditation through a single procedure, without using two separate applications, the agency said.

Validation carried out by the territorially competent office in the same section confirms the accreditation and triggers notification to the technology partner Sogei, which will prepare the test smartcards and reserved protocols, according to the notice. The function will also be used by parties already registered on the list as gaming-card producers to amend or update information already held in the database. For years after the first, registered information will be resubmitted for confirmation or updating, except the codes assigned to producers, which remain unchanged over time, the ADM said.
