Italy's ADM has ordered the launch of three Christmas instant lotteries, according to three directoral determinations dated 19 October. The games, proposed by concessionaire Lotterie Nazionali, are named Giochi di Natale, Giochi di Natale Super and Giochi di Natale Extra. The determinations were signed by Mario Lollobrigida, central director for games at ADM, and set out the prize structure, participation rules and payment of winnings.
The tickets cost €5, €10 and €20 respectively, with top prizes of €500,000, €2m and €5m. Giochi di Natale, the €5 game, has a first print run of 30.24 million tickets, a total prize pool of €107.64m and three top prizes of €500,000. Giochi di Natale Super, at €10, has 10.56 million tickets, a prize pool of about €79m and two prizes of €2m. Giochi di Natale Extra, at €20, has a first print run of 7.2 million tickets, total prizes of €112.37m and two top wins of €5m.
Across the three lotteries, the first production totals 48 million tickets, with a nominal value of €400.8m and prizes of more than €299m. The game mechanics draw on traditional Christmas pastimes including Tombola, Fai 21 and bonus games; the €20 version also includes Mercante in Fiera. The tickets carry Christmas-themed graphics.
