ACMA requires Entain to review BetStop compliance systems for 18 months

Regulation

Australia’s ACMA found that Entain breached BetStop requirements between 2023 and 2025, including delays closing self-excluded customers’ accounts and failures to mention BetStop in some electronic messages. Entain avoided a fine because the investigation exceeded the statutory 12-month period for imposing sanctions, and agreed to an independent compliance review for 18 months; ACMA may take legal action if it fails to meet the agreement.

Entain’s agreement requires an independent review and remediation of systems affecting self-excluded customers across its Australian brands.
