Secom allows sale of existing club shirts bearing betting brands in Brazil

Brazil’s presidential communications secretariat, Secom, said clubs and retailers may sell football shirts already made with betting brands after Measure 1,394 took effect. Its technical note treats the branding as legacy content, but says sales used to promote betting or increase brand exposure may be assessed by the relevant authorities. The guidance does not extend sponsorship contracts or permit new promotional activity.
