Wisconsin Senate approves tribal-only online sports betting bill
Wisconsin’s Senate approved a bill to legalise online sports betting, with wagers valid only when processed on servers located on federally recognised tribal land. The measure passed 21-12 and now goes to Governor Tony Evers, who has indicated support subject to agreement from all the state’s tribes. DraftKings and FanDuel criticised the proposal, saying operators could have to share up to 60% of revenue with tribes.
The bill’s tribal-server requirement and proposed revenue share would shape market access for sports-betting operators in Wisconsin.
