Wisconsin DOJ sues five prediction-market operators over sports contracts
Wisconsin’s Department of Justice sued Coinbase Global, Crypto.com, Kalshi, Polymarket and Robinhood Markets in Dane County, alleging their sports event contracts amount to illegal sports betting. The state seeks a declaration that the activity creates a public nuisance and claims the companies violate gambling laws by collecting fees from Wisconsin residents.
The lawsuits challenge whether prediction-market operators may offer sports event contracts to Wisconsin residents.
