US Treasury sanctions two Mexican casinos over alleged cartel links

Enforcement & compliance

The US Treasury Department sanctioned Casino Centenario and Diamante Casino in Mexico over alleged links to the Northeast Cartel, the department said, as reported. The sanctions block any assets the targets hold in the United States and prohibit people from doing business with them there. Treasury also sanctioned three individuals; the allegations against the casinos remain claims by US authorities.

The sanctions restrict US dealings with the named casinos and may affect counterparties doing business with them.
