Uruguay’s Parliament changes allocation of sports-betting VAT revenue
Uruguay’s Parliament approved a change to the distribution of tax revenue linked to sports betting, reportedly as part of the budget review. From January 2027, the allocation will give 45% to OFI, 25% each to the Uruguayan Olympic Committee and the National Sports Secretariat, and 5% to Fundación Deporte Uruguay; the AUF will no longer receive a share.
The revised allocation redirects sports-betting tax revenue and removes the AUF’s share from January 2027.
