Slovakia’s gambling regulator URHH launched its Safer Digital Future programme with the University of St Cyril and Methodius in Trnava, according to the report. The partners will study how digital products, including loot boxes and skin betting, affect younger audiences and develop prevention strategies.
The programme gives the regulator research support on gambling-related risks linked to digital games and younger users.

Agcom commissioner Massimiliano Capitanio said gambling prohibitions alone are insufficient to protect minors, citing findings from an Italian national health institute survey.
