Travellers International Hotel Group, operator of Newport World Resorts, reported 2025 net gaming revenue of PHP24.2 billion, up 4%, in results released by parent Alliance Global Group. Attributable profit increased 21% to PHP1.5 billion, while hotel and other non-gaming revenue fell 4% to PHP7.6 billion.
The results show how gaming revenue growth offset weaker hotel and other non-gaming revenue in 2025.

PAGCOR will require four integrated resorts in Manila's Entertainment City to begin converting gaming tables to smart-table technology from 1 January 2027. Chairman and CEO Alejandro Tengco said the initial requirement covers City of Dreams Manila, Okada Manila, Newport World Resorts and Solaire Resort Entertainment City, with baccarat tables first; the deadline is to start conversion, not complete it.
PAGCOR is considering requiring smart gaming tables in Philippine casinos and integrated resorts, reportedly to improve real-time oversight of gaming transactions. The requirement may begin with large integrated resorts, with implementation not expected before the second half of 2027; smaller casinos could be included later. The plan has not been finalised.
PhilWeb appointed Lance Y. Gokongwei as board chairman, replacing Crisanto Roy B. Alcid, who relinquished the chair and chief executive roles effective 27 August. Alcid remains a director, and Gokongwei will serve for the rest of the current term. The company said the appointment followed Gokongwei’s ₱2.02 billion strategic equity investment.
Melco is assessing a possible online gaming operation at City of Dreams Manila in the Philippines, citing Seaport Research Partners after discussions with management. Melco has reached no decision on the proposal. Seaport said a digital offering could help the resort compete with rivals that already run online platforms.
It was reported that Travellers International introduced the NWR Play online casino. PhilWeb supplies technology, compliance support and customer-service infrastructure, with Pragmatic Play games included through its distribution arrangement.
